Oswego, the Labette County seat, is located at the intersection of Highways 59/160, on a bluff overlooking the Neosho River Valley. Oswego was fortunate that a group of pioneer ladies had a vision, and purchased acreage along the bluff that is now Historical Riverside Park, our hidden gem. Over 80 acres of beautifully landscaped park includes a large public swimming pool, playground equipment, shelter houses, 10,000 s.f. community center, tennis courts, basketball court, RV park, ball fields, and home of the Labette County Fairgrounds. It is the perfect location for family reunions, weddings, company events and picnics, and other organized events.

Recreational opportunities abound in both the City and it’s surrounding area. A Senior Citizen Center, Riverside Park with its many amenities, Oswego Golf Course, Oswego Municipal Airport and organized activities sponsored by Oswego Recreation Commission or Oswego Summer Ball provide many opportunities for citizens of all ages. The Mined Land Area at the east edge of Oswego and many local hunting lodges including one of the finest in the world- Claythorne Lodge provide just a few of the hunting and fishing opportunities to be discovered.

Location is perfect – only a few hours from all types of events, shows, shopping, casinos, sports, arts, and easy access to a number of major airports. Yet the small town atmosphere is perfect for everyday living and raising a family!
